The bridge between international law and media

HUMAN RIGHTS AT SEA: A FUNDAMENTAL CONCEPT FOR THE MARITIME COMMUNITY

Human Rights Apply At Sea As Equally As They Do On Land…”

A new film on human rights issues in the international environment has been launched by Human Rights At Sea (HRAS) – an initiative by the International Criminal Law Bureau (ICLB), 9 Bedford Row International Maritime Practice. Understanding the rights of fishermen, indigenous seafarers, refugees, migrants and trafficked persons on board ships and in ports around the world, is key to knowing what happens when it goes wrong.

Knowing who to turn to is the big question. So, what is being done? HRAS is expanding an independent human rights platform, corporate social responsibility services and evolving the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights in the international maritime environment.
